Unstoppable

Unstoppable laces together and literally assembles different disciplines within shoewear manufacture, bringing new advances of footwear technology to the comfort and soft needs of worn out foot, the elderly arena.

Considering older people’s mobility a tool for indepence, I draw attention to how technical innovation components and their performance can change their habits. How does a bouncing sole coexist with a slipper? How can orthopaedics be included in the shoe? The results have a humoristic hint though they are not so unfamiliar images and identities.

The purpose of this project is to incite a discussion about shoes in society as symbols.
We tend to interpret our bodies, activities and abilities through social comparisons and age-adjusted standards. The way we get older, though, has bodily implications as well.
